Day one:

Morning pick up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala. Start 4 - 5 hour drive to Murchison falls National Park. Transfer to the magnificent top of the falls where you will enjoy your picnic lunch as you marvel at the mighty Nile forced into a seven Metre crevice to thunder 45 metres below in a series of cascades. The Nile can be viewed at different points up to the Baker's Summit. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge orIinns of the Nile Camp.

Day Two:

After an early morning breakfast, embark on a half day game drive on the northern bank of the river Nile. Escorted by game ranger, you may opt for a game walk while trailing animals and studying animal spoors. Game in this area include Giraffe, Elephant, Harte beest, Lion, Uganda Kob, Oribi and a variety of savannah and woodland birds. After lunch, take a Nile Cruise for game viewing at close quarters. This is a paradise of the Hippo and Crocodiles. Dinner and Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge or Inns of the Nile Camp. (B, L, D)

Day Three:

An early breakfast then depart to Fort-Portal, an excursion that will take you by the shores of lake Albert, through the escarpment and a series of human settlements with unique traditional African architecture to Mountains of the Moon Hotel/ Rwenzori View Guest House in Fort-Portal for dinner and overnight.

Day Four:

After breakfast, head for Kibale forest for a half day walk in search of primates. During the walk, black and white colobus monkey, Red tailed monkey, Baboon, Grey cheeked mangabeys or the chimpanzee are a common sight. After lunch, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After an evening game drive, transfer to your accomodations for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day Five:

After an early morning cup of tea at 6:30am, depart for a game drive on the northern part of the park along the Kasenyi track. This is the best time for opportunities of viewing the cats in action owing to the vast population of Uganda Kobs. Later, return for breakfast and the rest of the morning can be spent at the pool side. In the afternoon, take another boat cruise on the Kazinga for witnessing solitary Buffalo, Hippo and other animals at the edge of the channel as they cool off. Depending on the season European migrant birds like the terns and gulls congregate here in large flocks. Dinner and overnight either at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Camp. (B, L, D)

Day Six:

After a relaxed breakfast, transfer to the gorilla sanctuary located in this beautiful mountain scenery referred to as "the little Switzerland". Enroute make a detour to Ishasha sector in search for tree climbing Lions. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Travelers Rest Camp. (B, L, D)

Day Seven:

After breakfast, briefing by park rangers at the park headquarters.Later with a picnic lunch, start a 30 minutes - 8 hours trek in search of the rare and endangered mountain gorillas. The tracking starts at the point where the gorillas spent the previous day. After a full hour with the gorillas, return to your accommodation, dinner and overnight at Kitandara Luxury tented Camp. (B, L, D)

Day Eight:

After breakfast; transfer to Mbarara arriving in time for lunch at the Lake View Hotel later head for Kampala and transfer to Tourist Hotel. (B, L)

Day Nine:

Transfer to the Source of the Nile in Jinja with detours to Ssezibwa falls and Mabira forest. After lunch take an excursion to Bujagali falls; a spot with local traditional beliefs and where white water rafting starts. Return to Kampala late evening for overnight at St. Bruno Tented Camp - Portbell.

  • Our tour costs do not include Insurance; you are encouraged to have your own insurance cover.
  • Confirm your booking at least one year in advance by depositing 30% of the entire tour cost; this entitles you to the gorilla trekking. Note that there are no refunds for permit cancellations two months to the tour set-off date.
  • Late booking; i.e three months after the tour departure date will attract 10% of the tour cost.
